Utah-based musicians Andrew Wiscombe and The Real Doug Lane are celebrating the release of Operation Encore: Monuments with a concert at Muse Music in Provo on November 18, 2016. Operation Encore is a collaborative project featuring the musical talents of veteran and military singer-songwriters from around the country. This is the second release from Operation Encore, which was founded in 2014 by military veterans Robert Raymond, Chris Kurek, and Erik Brine.

Doug Lane (who performs as The Real Doug Lane “To avoid confusion,” he explains) deployed to Baghdad from 2003-2004 as a saxophonist and “guard duty specialist.” He lives in Provo with his wife, four kids, and two dogs. His song “Faces” is the closing track on the album.

Reach Provo covered Lane and Wiscombe’s involvement with the album last April during Operation Encore’s crowd-funding phase. The project successfully raised $25,401 of their $25,000 goal on Kickstarter.

This Friday’s event will feature songs from both Operation Encore albums as well as an exciting lineup of fan-favorite original tunes. The evening will be hosted by comedian/veteran Eric Kepoo with special guest performer Brother Chunky. Tickets at the door are $10, or $7.50 for veterans and active duty military (with proof of service). Tickets can also be purchased online at 24tix.com for $7 before Nov 17.
