Wish Granted Records welcomes young starlet Belle Jewel into the fold.
Belle Jewel, ending a year long artist partnership with Gigg.com, has just signed to Wish Granted Records – a startup out of Provo that recently received preliminary funding from a small group of private investors. Headed by CEO Grant Fry, Wish Granted Records will officially launch in 2016. While not at liberty to disclose information at present, the label is negotiating deals with several local artists. Belle Jewel is the second artist to be publicly acknowledged as part of their roster, behind singer/songwriter Michael Barrow.
The Daily Herald said this about her sound: “The 17-year-old Belle Jewel sounds like a product of her generation’s notable female voices, namely Lorde, Lana Del Rey and Ingrid Michaelson: sweet and tender, but also a bit guarded and occasionally gravelly.”
Belle Jewel’s song “River” was featured on the soundtrack for the LDS film Once I Was a Beehive. The soundtrack also features notable female artists Jessica Frech and former American Idol contestant Kenz Hall. The soundtrack is available for purchase at Deseret Book. She shared the stage with Alex Boyé, Allred, Mimi Knowles, and The Str!ke at the Stadium of Fire final four concert in 2014. Pretty big achievements for a girl her age.
We’ll present more information as it comes in.
For now, check out her rendition of “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.”
