Where should you eat when your tummy gets the rumbles at Rooftop tonight? We’ve got you covered.
Tonight’s looking to be a wet one. A hail storm rolled through Lehi at 12:30 PM and looked to be headed towards Provo. It’s been confirmed that Rooftop Concert Series is still happening tonight in downtown Provo – rain or shine. If you find yourself with an empty stomach and in need of a place to go inside to dry off, you might want to consider visiting one of these delicious restaurants tonight during 2016’s first Rooftop Concert.
Guru’s Cafe & Enliten Bakery
Guru’s Cafe is a restaurant that serves healthy, affordably priced gourmet foods. The interior has a warm, relaxing, modern aesthetic. Usually pretty crowded, Guru’s still manages to serve up large portions of delicious food in a timely manner. They serve salad bowls, wraps, nachos, sandwiches, and rice and pasta bowls. Adjacent to Guru’s Cafe is Enliten Bakery. They serve coffee, hot cocoa, sweet breads, pies, and pastries. You can see a comprehensive menu for Guru’s Cafe here and Enliten Bakery here. The restaurant is located at 45 E Center Street. Open until 10PM.
Recommended Dish: Guru’s Maui Wowie Chicken ($8.99) with Sweet Potato Fries ($3.99)
China Garden Chinese Food
China Garden Chinese Food provides large platters of simmering Chinese food at a more than reasonable price. You’d be hard pressed to find someone that can make it through an entire meal without feeling stuffed. Enjoy their delicious egg drop soup, egg rolls, and entrées. You’ll find everything from General Tsao’s Chicken to Kung Pao Shrimp. Free refills are a plus, too. Opened in 2004, China Garden was named Best Chinese by the Daily Herald in 2016’s Best In Utah Valley Awards. You can see a comprehensive menu for China Garden Chinese Food here. The restaurant is located at 225 W Center Street. Open until 9PM.
Recommended Dish: Sweet & Sour Chicken ($7.95)
A miniature version of Marley’s Gourmet Sliders located at The Riverwoods in North Provo, this restaurant is closest in proximity to the concert. Located at 27 N 100 W, it’s not even a block north of the action. Many will recognize the location as the spot where Sammy’s and Zeek’s used to be. Although the old restaurants are gone, you’ll be pleased to know that Marley’s still carries pie shakes – a Provo staple. If you like bottomless French toast, salty burgers with a hint of spice, and pie shakes, you’ll love Marley’s Jr. You can see a comprehensive menu for Marley’s Jr. here. Open until midnight.
Recommended Dish: Pie Shakes, Bottomless French Toast ($7.99)
Gloria’s Little Italy
If you’re looking for something a little more upscale and romantic, Gloria’s Little Italy is the perfect fit. While the food is more expensive than some of the other options, it is skillfully prepared and delivered in a beautiful setting, complete with an accordion player who serenades you while you eat. Their delicious gelato comes highly recommended. It’s perfect if you’re craving a dessert but don’t want to sit down for a full meal. Located at the intersection of University Avenue and Center Street, it’s best to come here before the concert starts. You can see a comprehensive menu for Gloria’s Little Italy here. Open until 10PM.
Recommended Dish: Gelato, Gloria’s Gnocchi ($17.50)
Rockwell Ice Cream Co.
Located at 43 N University Avenue, Rockwell Ice Cream Co., in our opinion, has the best ice cream in Provo. It has the perfect amount of thickness. In the same vein as Cold Stone Creamery, it’s not quite so thick. It’s thick enough to not drip on your clothes but soft enough to melt on your tongue and avoid brain freeze. Their mint chocolate chip ice cream is made with real mint leaves, and they have a wonderful selection of flavors you can’t find anywhere else. You can see a comprehensive menu for Rockwell Ice Cream Co. here. Open until 11PM.
Recommended Dish: Salted Caramel Ice Cream
